The tagline "Erleben was verbindet" (Experience what connects us) sets the goal for making this promise tangible and real.
Additionally, it was to be used within the online space of the "Digitale Welt" (Digital World) for the widest audience reach.
Splitting Realities
Taking an common sight and upgrading it a few notches - the classic street artist, drawing caricature portraits of partaking passers-by. Except now not only people on location would be sketched but also live through the web, be it desktop, tablet or phone.For this, a live-size mannequin with a "display-face" stood in for the online participants, while a second artist drew the local visitors. All this was live-streamed via several user-sectable cameras, including the artists' tablet screens. The webspecial, which ran in 3 phases, had people upload their mugshots to be caricatured, and a massive gallery featuring all the participants, both live and online. The event took place in Hannover, over a weekend, 9 hours per day.
Happy faces galore
Over 92,000 users followed the event live on the Digital World website and over 850,000 users watched the 'Best Of' on YouTube.
